Jaká je role žen v íránské literatuře a filmu? A co vůbec znamená natáčet politické filmy v zemi, kde se režim prolíná s náboženstvím? Fascinovaná íránskou kinematografií a poezií feministické básnířky Forúgh Farrochzád se režisérka vydává za osobnostmi perské kulturní scény. V rozhovorech pořízených v průběhu šesti let se ukazuje vliv íránského režimu na místní uměleckou a aktivistickou scénu, která žije a tvoří navzdory neustálému strachu o život a svobodu. V hledáčku morální policie ovšem nejsou pouze umělecké osobnosti, ale třeba i ženy, které si dovolily na veřejnosti odhalit vlasy. Režisérka nabízí komplexní vhled do života kritiků/ček režimu v současném Íránu skrze křehký jazyk své milované básnířky.

Through her love of Iranian poetry, the young director views the situation of the Persian film and artistic community, which faces daily threats from the local authorities due to criticism of the regime.

What is the role of women in Iranian literature and film? And what does it even mean to shoot political films in a country where the regime is intertwined with religion? Fascinated by Iranian cinematography and the poetry of the feminist poet Forúgh Farrochzád, the director goes after the personalities of the Persian cultural scene. Interviews conducted over the course of six years show the influence of the Iranian regime on the local art and activist scene, which lives and creates despite the constant fear for life and freedom. Of course, the moral police are not only looking for artistic personalities, but also women who allowed themselves to reveal their hair in public. The director offers a comprehensive insight into the life of regime critics/checkers in contemporary Iran through the fragile language of her beloved poet.
