Film využívající archivní materiály haagského tribunálu dává hlas ženám, které během války v Bosně a Hercegovině čelily brutálnímu sexuálnímu násilí a mučení.

Mezinárodní trestní soud v Haagu v roce 2000 jako první označil systematické znásilňování za formu mučení a sexuální zotročování za zločin proti lidskosti. Režisérka se vrací k přelomovému rozsudku a zvěrstvům ve městě Foča, která mu předcházela. Amatérské archivní záběry z dob bosenské války za nezávislost jí slouží jako neutrální obrazový podklad pro šokující svědecké výpovědi přeživších. Ženy popisují, jak byly drženy v zajetí, bity, znásilňovány a nuceny k prostituci. Zatímco pro historii jsou jen oběťmi války, v této dokumentární eseji se stávají vypravěčkami vlastních příběhů, které by i kvůli pokračující normalizaci sexuálních zločinů neměly být zapomenuty.

Using archival material from the Hague Tribunal, the film gives voice to women who faced brutal sexual violence and torture during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 2000, the International Criminal Court in The Hague was the first to designate systematic rape as a form of torture and sexual enslavement as a crime against humanity. The director returns to the landmark judgment and the atrocities in the city of Foča that preceded it. Amateur archival footage from the time of the Bosnian war for independence serves her as a neutral visual basis for the shocking witness statements of the survivors. The women describe how they were held captive, beaten, raped and forced into prostitution. While for history they are just victims of war, in this documentary essay they become the tellers of their own stories, which should not be forgotten even because of the ongoing normalization of sexual crimes.
